The Angara pine is a unique natural material. This wood species attracted since long time the attention of the people, who liked it because of its firmness, durability and smoothness to the touch. From the earliest time the pine lumber is used in the different branches of the economy – in housing, producing of horse carts, furniture, tar, turpentine and as a medical herb. Nowadays the pine lumber is used in such areas as construction, machine building industry, furniture and household goods production. The bulk of the Angara pine lumber is exported.

The structure of the Angara pine wood is quite unique und very nice – it has a rose hue, which provides it with a pleasant and warm exterior. While the young wood has only the rose pith, it becomes red-brown in course of time.

The sap is white-yellow. The annual rings are very well visible on all sections and the border line between the old and young wood can be recognised very precisely.

The Angara pine owes its excellent properties to the climatic conditions in its geographic range. The pine from this area features such characteristics:

The Text from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, overworked and complemented by us.

The Siberian larch (Larix sibirica) (Syn.: Larix sukaczewii und L. russica) is a coniferous wood from larch (larix) species and from Pinaceae family. It belongs to the most important tree species of Russia.

Areal
The home of the Siberian larch is in western Siberia, in the mountains of the southern Siberia and in the central Siberian table-land of the northern Mongolia. It has in Siberia a polar and a mountain borders at approximately 68°N (or. 74°N depending on author). There are also plantings in Sweden and in Finland for wood production.
In other European lands the Siberian larch can only be found in botanic gardens or arboreta.

Usage
The wood of the Siberian larch is hard and durable and therefore is of a big economical significance. The firmness of the larch wood can be compared with that of the oak. The firmness of the larch is 640 kg/m?, of the oak 700 kg/m?. The dried larch wood is resistant against rottenness. That’s why the buildings from larch are able to last centuries. For instance Venice stays on the larch piles, because none of other materials can withstand the destructive force of the saline water.

The age of the carpentry timber is 700-1000 years, though in some areas one come across the trees 1300 and more years old. More than 45% of the forest resources of Russia are comprised of larch.

Larch serves as a raw material for many different products:

Given the progressing disarboration of the tropical forests and the decrease in the yield of the tropical wood, namely the Siberian larch becomes a substitution for such tropical wood species as meranti or bangkirai which are traditionally used in the window and furniture production.
The cheaper materials such as metal or plastic will never be able to replace so environmentally compatible, cozy and warmth spreading material as a natural wood.

A broad range of suppliers, which are situated geographically far away from each other, ensures a stable flow of raw material, turning us independent from climatic and weather factors and shipment delays.
